Lab Resources
The COSS GIS Labs currently include more than 50 client workstations, Windows file servers and print servers, two color laser jet printers, a large format Hewlett Packard 1055cm plus plotter, dedicated lcd projectors and a mobile lcd projector, an ESRI Master Site License with unlimited access to nearly all the ESRI products. An ERDAS Imagine Heak License with 30 Imagine 9.x licenses for remote sensing training is also available. The labs also have an Idrisi site license. Transcad and Cube Voyager transportation modeling software (20 seats) are also installed in the labs. The COSS GIS Lab is divided into two facilities. One lab (035) is a dedicated teaching and training facility with 30+ seats. The other (320) is a seminar lab with 24-7 card swipe access for any faculty selected student or research assistant with a need for GIS capabilities. The lab also owns a Trimble Pro XR GPS receiver, a Trimble GEO-XT Hand held and a handheld GEO-Explorer for use in training exercises and projects.
