Interests

Professor Doan's primary interests are in the area of planning for less developed areas in both rural areas of the US and overseas ( Jordan , Egypt , Togo , Niger , and Botswana ). Research interests include integrating tourism with local development planning, developing appropriate regional development strategies, setting policy for market town development, and building capacity for local institutional development. In addition Professor Doan works on planning issues related sexual and gender minorities in the United States.
