Gary Fournier (Ph.D. (Economics), University of Virginia; B.A. University of Florida) is Professor of Economics at Florida State and has been a frequent visiting professor at the Department of Economics of the University of Bergen (Norway) and the Center for Health, Economic and Policy Studies of the Medical University of South Carolina. He is an associate of the Pepper Institute on Aging & Public Policy at FSU. He has published articles in leading journals such as The RAND Journal of Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Industrial Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Information Economics and Policy, Review of Industrial Organization, Complexity, Journal of Risk and Insurance, Inquiry, Journal of Health Politics Policy and Law, Population Research and Policy Review, Social Science Quarterly, Journal of Economic Education, and the Southern Economic Journal. He teaches applied microeconomics courses in the master’s degree program and at the undergraduate level. He is a member of the American Economic Association, Southern Economic Association, Industrial Organization Society, International Health Economics Association, and the American Society of Health Economists.

His interests outside of work include jazz music, running, and spending time with his family in New York and Colorado.
