What can I do with a major in Social Science?
Academic majors are not directly related to a specific job title. However, skills you will learn in the various social science fields will provide a variety of skills including writing, critical analysis, problem solving, research, and understanding group dynamics, differences, and policy affairs. These can be applied to a wide variety of occupations. See our Career Options page for more information.
What is the best major for a pre-law student?
Political Science is one choice. Courses include the judicial system and Supreme Court decisions as well as the American political system. However, law schools do not require any one major. They look for strong GPAs and LSAT scores, and they also expect good reading, writing, critical analysis, and oral communication skills.
