Shawn Lewers
Director of the Geographic Information Systems Laboratory

Shawn Lewers is the current Director of the Geographic Information Systems Laboratory (GIS Lab). He holds a Bachelors degree in History and Social Science Education and a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning with specialization in Environmental Resource Management. Shawn has roughly ten years of experience as a professional planner and GIS technician in both the public and private sectors, primarily working with and employing GIS technology in rural areas. In addition to managing GIS operations and teaching at the College of Social Sciences Shawn is pursuing (on a part time basis) a PhD in Geography specializing in GIS and Remote Sensing.
