Admission RequirementsA candidate is admitted to the program by meeting the University's general requirements for graduate admission and by recommendation of the director and advisory committee of the program. All applicants must take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) (verbal, quantitative, and writing portions) prior to admission to the program. The minimum guidelines for admission to the program are an upper division (junior and senior) grade point average of 3.0 or better, a combined score of 1000 or higher on the verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE, and a satisfactory writing score on the GRE. These indicators are considered along with other evidence of preparation including letters or recommendation and a personal statement. It is recommended that the student have undergraduate preparation in those fields where graduate work is contemplated. The application deadline for regular graduate admission is July 1 for the fall term beginning late August; November 1 for the spring term beginning early January; and March 1 for the summer term beginning early May. Official Transcripts of all college/university course work. These are mailed directly to the University Office of Admissions click here. Second copies of transcripts must be uploaded in the "supporting document" section of the online application or mailed directly to the department at Public Health, PO Box 3062161, Tallahassee, FL 32306-2161. For applicants currently or recently enrolled in school, these should be from faculty. Follow instructions in the recommendation section of the online application. List the name and email address of your recommenders. These people will receive an electronic prompt about uploading their letter for your application. A Short Statement of Purpose. Write a short one page statement about your career and educational goals. Follow instructions for uploading this in the "supporting documents" section of the online application.
