About the Workshop

Topics for this workshop include the ethics of markets, the moral limits of markets, efficiency and equity tradeoffs in health care and sweatshop labor, the sale of human organs, social responsibility of business, and the meaning of economic justice. Participants will examine alternative ethical frameworks using active exercises including simulations, group decision making, problem solving, classroom demonstrations, and role playing. This workshop will cover four of the ten lessons in Ethical Foundations of Economics, a publication that has just been released by the National Council on Economic Education. Teachers attending this workshop will receive this publication.

Please contact Harriet Crawford (850-644-4772) or E-mail (hcrawfor@coss.fsu.edu) if you would like to attend this workshop. Note, October 19 is a teacher planning day in many North Florida counties. We hope this will make it easier for you to attend.
